CNSF Continues Working Overseas

Vanessa Martinez goes for her German "A" License

In July 2006 the CNSF sponsored Vanessa’s US Soccer’s A License course in Massachusetts. In January 2007 her NSCAA Premier License in Florida and a year later her US Soccer’s Goalkeeping Course in California. It was at this time that she decided to continue her education in Germany and the CNSF was able to support her with a scholarship to the 1st World Congress on Science and Soccer in Liverpool England.

Now she’s out to earn the German "A" License. "I have finally received the confirmation of my registration to attend the DFB "A" License (from November 17 to December 3rd, 2008 in Hennef, Germany). Twenty-nine coaches were accepted to attend this course. Only two of them were women (including myself) and I am the only foreigner. The other woman is Sandra Minnert, who is a former player of the German Women’s National Team. She’s a great person. I met her last year during the "B" License. We were also the only two women attending the course. As I mentioned to you before the spots to attend the German "A" License are very limited and there is a lot of competition to earn one. Thus, it is a great honor and acheivement for me to have been selected to attend this course."
