"A" Level for Bryan Mancill

Another CNSF Alumnus reaches the top

Hello all,

My name is Bryan Mancill and I have been involved with the Chris Nedelcovych Soccer Foundation since 1998 as a scholarship recipient. I cannot begin to tell you the impact that the Foundation has had on me as a coach and as a person. I need to begin this by saying thank you to the Nedelcovych family and to Mr. Larry Paul without them this would not be possible.

I am currently at Lindenwood University as an assistant coach for the women’s program and I have also started to help out with the men’s program as well. We are going through our transition from the NAIA to NCAA Div II and it has been going very smoothly. Our women’s program will compete in the MIAA Conference which is arguably one of the most competitive Div. II conferences in the country while our mens program will be independent as the MIAA does not sponsor men’s soccer. I will also be finishing my Masters Degree in Sports Management in December.

This summer I was able to complete the USSF "A" License course in Lake Forest, Il. I was very excited to take a course here again because the facilities and staff are top notch and because a core group of people that completed the USSF "B" License last year there were coming back for another week of "soccer bootcamp!" It was great to see many of the old friends that I had made and to also make new ones!

Once the course was over it seemed like it took forever to get the results but they finally came in the mail while I was down in Muscatine, Iowa recruiting. MY dad was the first to receive notice and he told me that I passed. Since receiving my "A" License many people have asked me if I am happy to be done with the process and my reply has been that, "I am not done because the game of soccer is constantly changing and if I expect my players to educate themselves about the game I have to do the same." I feel very strongly about coaching education and the role it plays in the development of a coach and have seen the impact first hand on what it can for coaches and players alike.

Thank you to those who have supported me throughout this process and in my continued journey to reach my goals as a coach!

Sincerly,

Bryan Mancill
