CNSF Focusing On National Youth License
The CNSF to award eight full scholarships in 2005

Along with  2005’s CNSF/MSYSA Young Coaches Residential Camp the Foundation has turned its sights on supplying scholarships for young coaches to attend the US Youth Soccer’s National Youth License courses.

“This emphasis allows us to really reach out across the country. It expands our calendar and the area that we can reach in order to assist young coaches” said Larry Paul, CNSF Program Director. “Our experience with Indiana and Massachusetts Youth Soccer was very positive. Vince and Mike had two young coaches that they were excited about who needed some help to attend. We were able to provide that aid and really believe that this is the way to go.”

“We will be working with the State Associations that are hosting these courses in order to get out the word about the scholarships. Sam Snow, US Youth Soccer's Director of Coaching Education, has been working from the National office to help raise awareness about these opportunities as well. We have already seen a significant interest at the grass roots level from Club coaches and administrators to learn more and we're planning a new campaign to really get the word out.”

To apply for a US Youth Soccer National Youth License scholarships candidates will need to apply for the course through the hosting State Association. The candidates inform the State Association that they would like to apply for a CNSF Scholarship and the State Association will contact the CNSF. The hosting Association has the responsibility of selecting qualified candidates. CNSF will pay the cost of the National Youth License directly to the State Association for those selected. The CNSF will award up to eight full scholarships in 2005. Candidates will need to complete the two part CNSF application  for the Foundation and will be responsible for their own transportation to and from the course.
